Travelling: why do people travel?
It’s a well-known fact that travelling plays a significant role in a modern life. Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to see other continents and countries, modern cities and the ruins of ancient towns. I’m sure, those who live in small villages like going to big cities and spend their time visiting museums and art galleries, looking at shop windows and dining in exotic restaurants. City dwellers usually prefer quiet holidays by the sea or mountains with nothing to do but walk, sunbath and lay on the beach. ► People travel by boat, by train, by plane or on foot. And there are many reasons to travel. They travel to enjoy picturesque places or just for a change of scene. It's always interesting to discover new things, different ways of life, to meet different people, to try to different food or to listen to different musical rhythms. Travelling is also a chance to understand yourself in a better way. You can see the places and think where you want to live and work in future. You have an opportunity to see and learn lots of things that you can never learn through books. And because you’re actually experiencing this learning in real life, not reading it in a textbook, it will stay with you for a long time. ► What is more, people travel also for relaxing. After one year of hard working, people really like traveling for rest in holidays. For example, my family always travels to the beaches in the summer for rest after I finished a year of studying. This time is very significant for me to refresh my mind and to get new energy, new enthusiasm for new studying year. By traveling in the summer, my family really gets rid of stress and gets new energy for studying and working. So I am sure, that travelling is very useful and I wish I could travel even more.

ADVENTURE T involves challenges and adventure, such as trekking through a tropical rainforest or rock climbing. ECO T involves travel to virtually undisturbed areas of natural beauty. RELIGIOUS T involves visiting a place of spiritual significance. HEALTH T where the main focus is improving health, physical appearance or fitness. FOOD T involves tasting and experiencing the local and traditional food. BUSINESS T where the main motive for travel is work such as attending a business meeting or conferences. There are also many strange types, such as SHARK T it appeals to all these people who love sharks and their bloody jaws. Planet issues. Environmental problems.
In recent years the number of environmental problems has increased greatly. ► I think, that the most dangerous problem for our planet is global warming which means that most climates all over the world are changing and getting warmer. It happens because we burn too much petrol resources, and the Earth heats up. This process can cause floods, frequent storms, melting of glaciers and rising levels of sea. ► Because of the industrial revolution the air is polluted with awful chemicals. And many rare species of flora and fauna are threatened with extinction. ► Also the seas and oceans are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, pesticides, oil spills. If nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas. ► Overpopulation and energy consumption have created such planet-wide problems as massive deforestation, ozone depletion and acid rains. /// We should be proud to live on our wonderful planet and understand that the consequences of pollution might be terrible and affect us and our children later. Talking about the saving of the environment, to my mind, we should look for the alternative energy sources. These could be wind, water and solar energy. That means that we will give up using petrol resources, which give off very toxic wastes. We should also remember about the air. The easiest ways to fight with the air pollution are planting as many trees as we can because they can give us more oxygen. Also we should start recycling things made of glass, paper and plastic. It will help to prevent high levels of pollution. /// There should be more newspaper articles, TV-programs and science-popular films about ecological problems. They help people become environment-educated. So, all that we need is to have the desire to improve the situation and to stop being lazy.
