Особого внимания заслуживают две ситуации:
Hard – прилагательное – твердый, усердный
Hard – наречие – твердо, усердно
Hardly – наречие - едва
Hardly ever – наречие – почти никогда
He works hard. Он усердно работает.
We hardly know each other. Мы едва знаем друг друга.
I hardly ever go out. Я почти никогда не выхожу из дома.
Good – прилагательное – хороший
Well – прилагательное – здоровый
Well – наречие – хорошо
It was a good game. Это была хорошая игра.
Our team played well. Наша команда играла хорошо.
- How are you? – I am well, thank you. – Как Вы? - Здоров, спасибо.
После глаголов-связок, глаголов физического восприятия и слов both и all ставится прилагательное.
