Тема урока: “Clean air at home”

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Цели: совершенствовать умения монологических высказываний по теме «Загрязнение воздуха в помещении. Как защитить себя от загрязнителей воздуха внутри помещений?» с высказыванием своих суждений по решению проблемы.

Результаты:

1. Предметные:

· активизировать лексические единицы по теме «Indoor pollution. How to protect yourself from indoor pollutants?»

· прочитать текст «Clean air at home» с целью извлечения определенной информации, обсудить проблему текста.

· просмотреть видеоматериал по теме «Indoor pollution. How to protect yourself from indoor pollutants? Понять необходимую информацию, представленную в видеосюжете.

· совершенствовать умения монологических высказываний по проблеме

· разработка проекта «Ecology» на тему «Indoor air pollution. What can we do to protect ourselves from indoor pollutants?»

2. Метапредметные:

· развивать умение извлекать определенную информацию;

· развивать умение кратко сообщать и обосновывать свой ответ, высказать свои суждения по проблеме;

· учится лаконично излагать свои суждения по проблеме и способах ее решения в письменной речи.

3. Личностные: воспитывать чувства сопричастности к проблемам сохранения чистоты воздуха, готовности решать связанные с этим проблемы

Оснащение урока: учебник ‘Spotlight 10’ (О.В. Афанасьева, И.В. Михеева, В.Эванс), компьютер, проектор, презентация к уроку, интерактивная доска, видеоматериал, задания на карточках.

Содержание урока

I. Оргмомент.

T: Good morning, students. I hope you are well today, aren’t you? Let’s check your home task! You have learnt the vocabulary and now we’ll make the word formation:

2. What problem does it depict?
3. Is it so important to discuss this problem and solve it?

So, today at the lesson we’ll try to find out the answer to your question.

 

All of you have mind-maps, you should fill the gaps, using the words connected with air pollution. Some of you have “Indoor air pollution” in the center and a group of students has “Outdoor air pollution”.

Now I’ll give you the time, you look through the topic which is given at page 41 and then we’ll discuss it.

You are given the tasks. You should choose the right answer:

VII. Video

T: Now we’ll watch a part of the TV program, it provides the information how to improve our home’s indoor air quality. Here you can see new vocabulary and its definition, it will be presented later.

Minimize – reduce to a minimum.
Exhaust fan – a fan which is used to control the interior environment by venting out unwanted odors, particulates, smoke, moisture, and other contaminants which may be present in the air.

Coughing and sneezing – the main symptoms of flue and cold.

Recycle – to send (used newspapers, bottles, cans, etc.) to a place they are made into something new.

Asthma – a common lung disorder in which inflammation causes the bronchi to swell and narrow the airways, creating breathing difficulties that may range from mild to life-threatening.

T: Students, you are given the boxes which can help you to answer the questions after the watching.

T: Imagine that while preparing a project you took some photos. Choose ONE photo to present to your friend.

T: And now you should switch on your imagination! One of you will be the journalist, who has to make a report about the problems of air pollution. Another one will be the specialist in this sphere. You will work in the groups.

IX: Заключительная часть, подведение итогов, активизация пройденной лексики
