Task 4. Imagine that you are doing a project “Life without gadgets” together with your friend. You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2.5 minutes be ready to tell the friend about the photos:
give a brief description of the photos, justifying the choice of the photos for the project;
say in what way the pictures are different, justifying the choice of the photos for the project;
mention the advantages and disadvantages (1–2) of the two types of books;
express your opinion on the subject of the project – whether you would like to live without gadgets and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (2–3 sentences for every item of the plan, 12–15 sentences total). You have to talk continuously.

Art classes

| Art classes, such as painting and drawing, are as important for children’s development as other subjects in high school. Art can help youngsters to be more creative and sharpen their cognitive skills. It develops their imagination. This is beneficial because it boosts their ability to produce some unique ideas, thereby getting them well-prepared for their future prospect. Art makes students to grow interest in non-academic subjects and get hands-on experience in these fields. This is specifically advantageous for those who possess special gift or passion for drawing, as it gives them a platform where they can develop and perfect their artistic skills from an early age. Therefore, it is easier for them to pursue their creative career afterwards. Students have a chance to enhance their fine motor skills as well as their hand-eye coordination, which helps them to be faster and more flexible in doing basic things in their daily life. | Art is subject that requires special talent that not every pupil possesses. Some students are not good at painting. Thus, they can be embarrassed if made to perform art in classes, which may produce negative impacts on their mental health. |

| Housework is one of the crucial things for children to grow up. Household chores help children learn important skills and feel good about contributing to family life. Doing housework teaches children a sense of responsibility and skill. Also, it helps them to not be spoiled. When they learn these skills at a young age, they can carry it into their adulthood and be better homemakers. All family members should share responsibilities around the house and set priorities. The burden is less, so everyone has time to relax. Splitting housework evenly helps a family to become more close-knit as everyone can feel mutual caring for others. | It is clear that children are not competent enough to do the chores. Children should not be required to do the chores because they have too many after school activities. Household chores take much time and energy. |

| Most people want to preserve the important memories in their lives such as weddings, birthdays. They believe there are times that they need to be reminded of these precious memories. Photographs are an important communication tool that everyone can understand. Pictures are quite helpful things that can remind people of places they once visited. Printed photos have more sentimental value because people can touch them, keep them and hand them to others to share. Over time, people can lose track of digital photos and, in turn, our memories. With the digital camera, today people have more opportunities to take the photo from any location, distance and angle, take as many photos as we want, view them instantly, process it and then share it more quickly and efficiently than ever before. People choose to photograph themselves for several reasons. First, they probably can’t really rely on the skills of other people as they believe in their own skills. Secondly, taking photographs of one’s own has become really, really easy with smartphones and other advanced digital cameras and “selfie” is a modern craze popular among the young generation. Finally, some people photograph themselves because they don’t have any other people or expert photographers around them to take their pictures at some special moments. People usually smile when someone takes photos of them because smiling and a happy facial expression make their more attractive. A smile is the most beautiful feature. | In some cases photos can get lost.

Recycling

| Recycling is absolutely crucial and beneficial. Recycling has been proven to be a more conventional way as it helps lower air pollution, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. Recyclable materials include plastic, glass, paper, metal, textile, tires and electronics. It is very important to be eco-friendly and understand how your waste is being recycled or thrown out. Some people are big fans of recycling household goods such as empty glass bottles, plastic bottles and old garments. In terms of benefits, firstly, recycling helps reduce the damage to the environment by cutting down on the amount of waste sent to landfills. Second, if people use materials again, they can take fewer resources from the Earth. Third, recycling materials produce less pollution, so it helps to keep our environment clean. Be sure to recycle everything you can do. Always drop your used aluminum cans and plastic bottles in a recycling bin. Remember to put paper items like the newspaper, cereal boxes, and homework pages into the recycling bin, too. Besides, find creative ways to reuse old items before throwing them away. If we don’t recycle, humans run the risk of destroying the global ecosystem. Recycling is important to protect mother earth. Building a recycling unit center requires huge capital. The accompanying costs like vehicles, new bins, infrastructure costs, schooling the community about recycling and creating awareness programs are very expensive and time consuming.
Recycled products are often of lesser quality.
Most of the recycled materials are not durable. They do not last long because the raw material has been reused. The materials are usually worn out, fragile and overly utilized. That is why the products are resold at a low price.
Recycling also uses energy.
