This question is for the non British and people not living in Britain!
I'm American and I like Britain. It's geographically and historically quite pleasant, it has some nice culture and social aspects, government is sound, great television (seriously), good education (Cambridge, Oxford, etc.), interesting sports (European football and cricket, for example, though I don't frequently watch or play either), people from Britain have an aesthetically pleasing ascent etc.
Also, my aunt is British (having lived there until she was 18), though she rarely speaks of the place.
The worst part of Britain in my opinion? The rain. I've never witnessed it, but it seems it rains awfully often there (which makes sense based on its location). This is also an upside from another perspective though, because I do enjoy staying indoors on dreary days, as well as the natural water for flora and free car-wash.
Good and bad manners 2
Good and bad manners make up the social rules of a country. They are not always easy to learn because they are often not written down in books. Visitors to Britain are often surprised by the strange behaviour of the inhabitants. One of the worst mistakes is to get on a bus without waiting your turn in the queue. The other people in the queue will probably complain loudly! Queuing is a national habit and it is considered polite or good manners to wait for your turn.
Britons may be surprised to see young children in restaurants in the evening because children are not usually taken out to restaurants late at night. And if they make a noise in public or in a restaurant it is considered very rude. In recent years children are playing a more active role and they are now accepted in many pubs and restaurants.
In recent years smoking has received a lot of bad publicity, and fewer British people now smoke. Many companies have banned smoking from their offices and canteens. Smoking is now banned on the London Underground, in cinemas and theaters and most buses. It's becoming less and less acceptable to smoke in a public place. It is considered rude or bad manners to smoke in someone's house without permission.
Social rules are an important part of our culture as they passed down through history. The British have an expression for following these "unwritten rules": "When in Rome, do as the Romans do".
I am Indian and I have a very mixed opinion about Britain and the British people. I have met some good ones and some bad ones as well. Of course, I cannot speak for the whole of India, but here are my views:
The good :
· The Britsh have contributed a lot to the industrial revolution, literature, science and technology. Every educated person in the world would have heard of Newton, Darwin and the other scientists.
· I cannot imagine the entertainment industry without these names: Fry, Laurie,, Smith and many others. It's the same with the Music industry.
· Cricket, the Queen's English, Literature, parliamentary democracy and multiculturalism.
The Bad :
· Britain seems to be struggling hard to find its rightful place in the modern world- which it helped create. The influence of this little island nation, which once ruled the world seems to be fading away.
· As a nation, they seem quite confused. They do not know if they want to stay in the E.U or get out of it. They have the Scottish independence thing going on as well.

Для того чтобы правильно выполнить контрольное задание №1, обучающемуся необходимо усвоить следующие разделы курса английского языка по рекомендованным РП учебникам:
I. Части речи: существительное, прилагательное, местоимение
II. Видо-временные формы глагола: а) активный залог – формы Simple, Progressive и Perfect в Present, Past и Future; b) пассивный залог – формы Simple (Present, Past, Future). Особенности перевода пассивных конструкций на русский язык.
Обучающемуся предлагается выполнить следующие задания:
I. Перепишите следующие предложения и переведите их на русский язык. Определите по грамматическим признакам, какой частью речи являются слова, оформленные окончанием -s, и какую функцию это окончание выполняет, т.е. служит ли оно:
а) показателем 3-его лица единственного числа глагола в Present Simple;
б) признаком множественного числа имени существительного;
в) показателем притяжательного падежа имени существительного.
II. Перепишите следующие предложения и переведите их, учитывая особенности перевода на русский язык определений, выраженных именем существительным.
III. Перепишите следующие предложения, содержащие разные формы сравнения, и переведите их на русский язык.
IV. Перепишите и письменно переведите на русский язык следующие предложения, обращая особое внимание на перевод неопределенных местоимений.
V. Перепишите и письменно переведите на русский язык текст.

Обучающемуся предлагается выполнить следующие задания:
I. Перепишите следующие предложения и переведите их на русский язык, обращая внимание на разные значения слов it, that, one.
II. Перепишите следующие предложения и переведите их на русский язык, помня о разных значениях глаголов to be, to have, to do.
III. Перепишите следующие предложения, подчеркните в каждом из них модальный глагол или его эквивалент. Переведите предложения на русский язык.
IV. Перепишите следующие предложения, определите в каждом из них видо-временную форму и залог глагола-сказуемого. Переведите предложения.
V. Перепишите и письменно переведите на русский язык текст.
