At a Restaurant

Mary: Do you see that Italian restaurant over there? It looks very nice. Let`s go in and have lunch. I hope the food will be delicious there.

Jane: I know this restaurant. I was here last month with my friend. The Italian food is excellent here. They have a large choice of different national Italian dishes on the menu. But you also can order other European meals.

Mary: I hope the service is also good there.

Jane: Sure. The waiters always observe good manners.

Mary: So, they really have a cosy atmosphere. I like that table in the corner. And what about you?

Jane: So do I. Let`s take our seats. Where is our menu? What do they offer for lunch today?

Mary: For the main course I will take spaghetti with fish, shrimps and cheese. For dessert I like strawberry ice-cream and tea.

Jane: And I will start with pasta with tomatoes, sweet basil and parmigiano. For afters I will take milkshake with fruits. Fruit looks very fresh and delicious.

Dinner at a Restaurant.

Peter: Do you often eat out?

Robert: I like to eat out and I prefer to go to different restaurants. I don`t like self-service restaurants and cafeterias. I like restaurants, where waiters serve their customers.

Peter: I also like restaurants with waiter`s service. Of course, it is a pleasant variation from self-service cafes. But good restaurants with delicious cuisine are rather expensive for me.

Robert: I would like to invite you for dinner to my favourite London restaurant tonight. It will be a good reason to celebrate my promotion at work.

Peter: With pleasure. I haven`t been in good restaurants for ages.

Robert: Here is our table and here is the menu. Let`s begin to study it. Are you ready to make your order?

Peter: Not yet. Wait a minute.

Robert: And I am ready to make my order. I will have veal cutlet, green peas, fried potatoes and mushroom sauce.

Peter: And I will start with onion soup. Then I will have grilled fish and creamed asparagus.

Robert: You made a very good choice. I`m sure it`ll be fantastically delicious.

Peter: Would you like to order something for dessert now?

Robert: I will order the chef`s special dessert.

Peter: So do I. I wonder what specialty the chef will make tonight.

Robert: What was your impression of our dinner? Did you enjoy the meals at my favourite restaurant?
