Разница между Present Simple и Present Continuous

Ex 1. Выберите правильный вариант. В скобках мои подсказки.
Gerald: Hi, Bruno. It's me, Gerald, What dо you do / are you doing? (что делаешь сейчас)
Bruno: I have / am having a coffee with Carla. (тоже действие происходит сейчас) What about you?
Gerald: I sit / аm sitting at my desk as usual (cижу сейчас). So you don't work / aren't working today (вопрос к сейчас, а не в общем)
Bruno: I am, but I don't usually start / аm not usually starting work before
ten o'clock (а вот здесь уже он отвечает в общем – я обычно начинаю…. – это уже привычка, регулярное действие. Плюс есть еще наречие usually, а оно как вы помните употребляется только в Present Simple)
Gerald: How's Carla?
Bruno: OK, but she doesn 't like / isn't liking her job at the hospital. (она не любит у целом. К тому же, like никогда не употребляется в Continuous)
Gerald: Oh, why not?
Bruno: Well, she works / is working from I a.m. till midnight every day. (тоже регулярное действие)
Gerald: That sounds hard. Does she look / Is she looking for a new job? (а вот здесь уже идет еще одно значение Present Continuous. Действие не обязательно должно проходить прямо сейчас – оно может проходить на протяжении какого-то короткого отрезка времени – 1 час, 1 день, 1 неделя и т.д. В этом предложении Джеральд спрашивает – Она сейчас ищет новую работу? – но он имеет виду не прямо сейчас, а в конкретном отрезке времени – например, 1 неделя. Здесь идет четкое понимание, что это не является регулярным действием или привычкой. Это временное действие, которое закончится сразу же как только она найдет новую работу)
Bruno: Yes, I think so. She looks / is looking in the newspaper and on the
internet every day (а здесь ответ идет уже в другом времени, поскольку говорящий добавляет здесь every day, а это говорит о том, что он считает, что это уже ее привычка, регулярное действие)
Gerald: Really? Because I phone / I'm phoning about a job opening here (звонит именно сейчас)
Office work, not very interesting but the money isn't bad. Perfect
for Carla.
Bruno: Hey, Carla - good news, it's Gerald...
Ex 2. Вставьте в предложение глагол в нужном времени – Present Simple или Present Continuous. Постарайтесь прочувствовать где сейчас, а где это в общем.
1. Quiet please! I am writing (write) a test.
2. She usually walks(walk) to school.
3. Every Sunday we go (go) to see our grandparents.
4. We are plaing(play) cards at the moment.
5. I am not doing (not/do) anything at this moment.
6. Do I watch(watch) TV regularly?
7. Marc liks (like) fruits and vegetables.
8. He knows(know) that apples is[D1] (be) good for his health.
9. You don’t see (not\see) her every day
10. I am not reading(not/read) a book now.
11. Is she eating (she/eat) a dinner at the moment?
12. She visits[D2] (she/visit) her grandma very often?
Разница между Past Simple и Past Continuous

Пример:
When we were having dinner, the phone rang = Когда мы ужинали (процесс), зазвонил телефон (результат).
I fell asleep, while I was watching TV = Я заснул, когда (в то время как) смотрел телек.
Two weeks ago I travelled to the USA.
Last Friday I went to the cinema.
EX 3. Поставьте глагол в нужное время: Past Simple или Past Continuous. В некоторых случаях у вас в скобках дан глагол в настоящем и прошедшем времени.
1. Every day James travels to London. Yesterday he drove[D3] (drive – drove) his car, when he saw (see - saw) a dog in the middle of the road.
2. The dog watched[D4] (watch) the car.
3. James stoped (stop) and got(get - got) out of his car.
4. As he was getting (get) out, the dog ran (run - ran) away.
5. James went (go) back to his car.
6. While he was getting(get) in the car, the dog appeared(appear - appeared) again and sat (sit - sat) down in the middle of the road.
7. James jumped (jump) out of the car and shouted (shout – shouted) at the dog.
8. The dog barked(bark – barked) at him and started (start) running away.
9. James followed(follow) the dog.
10. Suddenly, he is seeing[D5] (see) two girls lying on the grass. They bled[D6] (bleed – bled).
Ex 4. Поставьте глагол в нужное время: Past Simple или Past Continuous.
1. While Tom was plaing(play) the piano, his mother did (do) the washing-up.
2. He drinked (drink) some juice and then he eated (eat) a few chips.
3. When my father was working (work) in the garden, an old friend came (come) to see him.
4. She went(go) to school,took (take) out her text book and started (start) to learn.
5. When it was starting (start) to rain, our dog wanted (want) to come inside.
6. When I was wasing (be) on my way home, I saw(see) an accident.
7. I did not undestand (not / understand) what they talked(talk) about.
