а) представление компаний.
1) Super Toys President: I'm President of the joint-stock company Super Toys. The history of our company is not so long, but it has been very successful. Our company was sounded in 1966. We produce and sell a sot of toys: head gehogs, giraffes, bears, wolves. We have many offers, we deal with a lot of companies all over the world. It is profitable. The management of the company runs the company successfully. Last year was particulary good. Our total sales increased greatly.

Director of Toy Hamper: If you want to buy something you go to the shop. It is very convenient to do shopping in our supermarket. We have many departments under one roof. You can buy dresses blouses, skirts, coats and many other things in our women's clothing department. In the men's clothing department you can buy suits, trousers, overcoats, and ties. In tjie knitwear department you can buy sweaters, pullovers, and woolen jackets. You can buy vacuum-cleaners, washing machines. TV sets, tape-recorders, and new models of computers in the electric appliances departments. Our managers and shop assistants are polite and highly qualified. Our customers like to do their shopping here.
б) президент компании Super Toys проводит совещание.
President: Dear friends! Colleagues! 1 have invited you to discuss the following question. Christmas is approaching and we have to advertise our new toys. Which of them will be in great demand before chrismas?
Sales Manager: I think our new product Timothy Teddy Bear is a good present for Christmas. We have developed a new model recently. It can talk, crawl and cling to people. It is 30 ст. high and it operates via 4AA rechargeable batteries. Every one likes teddy bears. Children leke teddy bears. Grown-ups like teddy bears. It will be in great demand. We'll receive many orders.

Кроме ролей, обозначенных в таблице, имеются роли редактора газеты и президента телевизионной компании. Эти персонажи должны определить условия и цены на размещение рекламы в газете и на телевидении соответственно.
Т: You have to imagine that you are one of the characters in the situation. Look at the list on the black board and decide who you are going to be. You must understand who you are, what you are going to do and to say. Think of suitable questions and remember that you may be asked about things you do not have in \ our role description. Work out in detail how you will lay the scene and make sure you all agree. If necessary, we'll rehearse the situation.
После того, как составлен план ролевой игры, определены главные действующие лица и дано описание ролей, создаются рабочие группы, включающие учащихся разного уровня обученности. Исполнитель роли президента компании и директора супермаркета следует предложить более сильным ученикам, хорошо владеющим как приемами подготовки высказываний, так и технологий группового взаимодействия. Они будут осуществлять организаторские и консультативные функции. Начинается работа по реализации плана игры.
Учащиеся коллективно или индивидуально на основе изученных образцов писем, диалогов, текстов отбирают речевой материал для своей роли, консультационную помощь оказывают лидеры каждой группы и преподаватель.
Для проведения игры можно сдвинуть по два рабочих стола для сотрудников каждой компании, которые разместить за ними лицом к партнерам. Во главе каждого стола - руководитель компании, в центе аудитории — стол для проведения переговоров. Для красочного оформления аудитории использовать плакаты, подготовленные в качестве рекламных объявлений в газету (можно сделать несколько плакатов, т.к. в отделе рекламы компании Super Toys работают 4 сотрудника)

в) Реклама. Реклама была заснята на видео в процессе подготовки к открытому уроку. Этот вид деятельности студенты уже использовали при изучении темы
"Hotel".
Advertising Manager: Collegues! We must advertise our Timothy Teddy Bears. We
must publish and advertisement in our local newspaper and prepare a TV commercial.

Advertising Manager: I must call the Editor of our local newspaper and the President
of our local TV company and make appropriate arrangements.
Good morning. Mrs ……..Manager of Super Toys speaking. Can I speak to the Editor?
Editor: Editor speaking.
Advertising Manager: We'd like the advertisement of our new product to be
published. Having used your newspaper in the past with excellent results, we are
approaching you first this time to see what terms you can offer us. We would be
prepared to go for a multiple insertion of, say, ten issues this would work out cheaper.
Editor: You can advertise your toys in our newspaper. One square cm costs $5. Does
it suit you?
Advertising Manager: Yes, splendid. Good-bye.

Good morning Mrs...., Manager of Super Toys speaking. Can I speak to the
President?
President: President speaking.
Advertising Manager: We have a new product available very soon and in order to
give it maximum publicity we would like to advertise on your television network. We
are interested in day time when plenty of children are viewing, and would like about
30 seconds twice a week. Is this possible?
President: Certainly. If you have your TV advertisement ready we'll send you our
details of advertising rates and if they suit your management you will bring us your
materials.
Advertising Manager: Thank you. That's a deal. Good-bye.
д)Рекламные письма.
Sales manager: Let's send the advertising letters to the largest toy shops. (Зачитывает рекламное письмо, использовавшееся в процессе подготовки ролевой игры).
е) Запрос: Секретарь зачитывает заранее подготовленное письмо и передает его в компанию Toy Hamper.

order a consignment of the bears. Ive written an enquiry.

We were greatly impressed by the samples of your bears. We are interested in
establishing contacts with you and would like to order 100 bears for prompt delivery
provided your terms and conditions are acceptable for us.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.

ж) Предложение. Секретарь зачитывает подготовленное письмо и передает его в компанию Super Toys.
Secretary of Super Toys: We've received an enquiry from Toy Hamper. They're going to buy our toys. This is our offer.

Thank you for your enquiry which has been given our careful attention.
We can make a firm offer to meet any delivery dates. The prices and terms of payment will depend on our mutual agreement. If you place a big order we shall be able to give you a discount. Your early reply will be appreciated.

President of Super Toys: we are perfectly able to meet your dates. We have a big
stock. Have you seen our contract form?
Director of Toy Hamper: Not yet.
President of Super Toys: here you are.
Director of Toy Hamper: And you remember my remark, Ms..., don't you? I said: If the price is competitive, we would like you to give us a discount of 5%.
President of Super Toys: That's too much. As a special concession we can give you a
3% discount. And payment by an irrevocable confirmed Letter of Credit, which you will open right after signing the contract.
Director of Toy Hamper: Good, it's a deal. We'll be able to sign a contract right away.

Purchase Manager of Toy Hamper: While doing business, different problems arise sometimes. For example discrepancy in the documents, customs clearance, inferior quality of the goods, or short delivery of the goods. Businessmen meet to settle the problems as personal contracts have become the most efficient means of promoting a better understanding in all spheres of human activity. Businessmen hold talks politely and tactfully and try to keep up business relations. They arrange for immediate shipment of short-delivered goods and replace the inferior ones. But I must say it is alv\a\ s a pleasure to do business with Super Toys, we usually have no problems with their products. The quality of the goods is always excellent.

Toy Hamper Secretary: Ms... of Toy Hamper.
We've received your offer and our President would like to have a meeting with yours
to settle some business matters. I'd like to make an appointment. Is your President
available on Tuesday?
Super Toys Secretary: Is 10 o'clock all right for you?.
Toy Hamper Secretary: Yes, that's fine. Good-bye.

Timothy Teddy Bear is our brand-new product. Are you going to place a big order?
Director of Hamper: Yes, 50 bears for prompt delivery and 150 for delivery in 3
equal parts of 50 per week within a month of signing the contract.
