“Корона” Тингола представляет собой венец из листьев (автор не сразу пришел к этой мысли). Лутиэн носила венок из белых цветов: летом – дикая белая роза, ранней весной – подснежник. Даэрон постоянно носил венок из папортника. Следовательно, венец не был в Дориате королевской привилегией. Возможно, венец Тингола чем-то и отличался от всех остальных и служил знаком индивидуальности владельца, Тингола, но едва ли мог символизировать идею “власти” отдельной от ее носителя, как корона-шлем у Нолдор. Интересно, что Трандуил тоже носил венец из листьев (девятая глава Хоббита).

Axe – в Сильмариллионе это оружие почти всегда ассоциируется с Синдар. В сказании о Туоре так о сказано стражах Третьих Врат Гондолина: ‘...and the blades of their axes were red. Of the kindred of the Sindar of Nevrast for the most part were those that held this gate.’ (UT I, 1). В «Позднейшей Квэнте Сильмариллион» народ Синдар назван «эльфами топора», ‘Axe-elves’ (MR:171).
Мечи тоже были известны в Дориате. Турин стал одним из «рыцарей меча» (‘knights of sword’) у Тингола (UT I, 2).
Buckler – небольшой круглый щит. Вероятно, именно круглые щиты (необязательно маленькие, как баклеры) – отличительная черта воинов-синдар. Туору, воспитанному Сумеречными эльфами Митрима, показался странным каплевидный щит Тургона в Нэврасте. Похоже, это связано с обычаем сражаться секирой. Могу процитировать слова человека, владеющего боевым топором: «А щиты (по собственному опыту знаю) "под топор" лучше круглые и средних размеров.» (Сержант Копыто. Военное дело народа Казад).
Corslet. Согласно словарю, corselet (sic) – латы. Но у Толкина во Властелине Колец corslet (sic) – это кольчуга. Вот что сказано там о митрильной кольчуге Фродо: ‘The silver corslet shimmered... the sound of the shaken rings...’ и далее ‘Under the mail there was a shirt of soft leather, but at one point the rings had been driven through it into the flesh’ (LotR1:II ch. 6). Вероятно, и здесь corslet – это кольчуга (я не встречал никаких упоминаний о сплошном латном доспехе у эльфов).

Прозвище Карантира наверняка связано с цветом волос, отсюда, согласно «Шибболету», его отцовское имя Morifinwe (PM:353). Кстати, квэнийское слово vanya может передать оба значения английского fair. Vanya можно перевести как «эльф из народа Ваньяр», а можно - «прекрасный» или «светловолосый» (WJ:383). Правда, неизвестно, носил ли Келегорм в Валиноре такое прозвание. В пятом томе (соответствующая глава из Quenta Silmarillion) сказано, что волосы у него золотые. Но от кого из предков он мог унаследовать такой цвет?
