Anjali Dasi ok but I have to get around to writing it again and I'm just not sure if I can write it without saying something negative about life before Gurudeva. That's why I didn't share it publicly yet

Subal Sakha Dasa Srila Prabhupada's mercy has no bounds. He helped me find Srila Gurudeva in very much the same way. Crying in the heart before His deity in the temple. He never lets you down. Jay Srila Prabhupada! Jay Srila Gurudeva!

Syama Priya Devi Dasi Krishna Rose, I was there with you in India that year, but somehow I didn't meet Srila Gurudeva until I got back to England. (I had been praying to the desire trees when I went with ISKCON on Vraj Mandal Parikram to meet my eternal spiritual master). When I did meet Srila Gurudeva at Sridham's house you told me to come on Gurudev'as first American tour! I am so glad that I did. I was initiated that year in Badger and you were my 'witness'.

Vladislava Darakchieva Krishna Rose, Subal Sakha prabhu, your prayers were heard! Please pray for me for the same, obviously you know how... and obviously I don't... I lost my Gurudeva 24 years ago and since then I am praying and searching for my Gurudeva all over the World... and every time when I think "I found him!" it proves to not be the case. I am praying wrongly, but you are not. Please help me! I am sitting alone now in the middle of a river somewhere in Korea and crying... Where is my Guru?! Why doesn't He find me if I cannot find him? All I have is my Japa, a book which a devotee sent me, and my broken heart...

Anjali Dasi Do you spend a lot of time in sadhu sanga? There are many sadhus who can help you find your Gurudeva in your heart. It may not be necessary that you meet someone who seems to manifest him externally. Or it may. I don't know because I don't know you but like our Srila Gurudeva has said that he is closer to us than the air we breathe, so by pleasing him he is always accessible in our hearts.
I guess I reacted to reading your comment here because I've been spending a lot of time in Thailand and Laos, so I relate to being in South East Asia. In those places I find little sadhu sanga if any. And Korea? I distribute some books while I'm there to keep the connection. The holy dhamas are full of so many beautiful advanced bhaktas and many of us seek sadhu sanga in India. But Sri Guru can come to you anywhere anytime by their wish and causeless mercy I guess.

Krishna Rose I am so sorry that you lost your Guru 24 years ago, who was he, if you don't mind me asking? There are Pure Devotee's on the planet now, Sri Srimad Bhakti Vijnana Bharati Gosvami Maharaja is the one that most of our Gurudeva's disciples are now going to for inspiration. I also have a lot of faith in Bhakti Bibudha Bodhayan Maharaj as a great helper on this path! You are not alone!

Vladislava Darakchieva Krishna Rose: My Gutudeva is Bhakti Abhay Narayan Maharaj from Hungary. he left this world very young at the age of 39. He was one of those brave disciples of Shrila Prabhupad who left ISKCON and took shelter at Shridhara Maharaja's feet. my Gurudeva got his sannyas name Abhay Narayan (the fearless Narayan) from Shridhara Maharaj. here is a documentary movie about Gurudeva who one of my God brothers made.

Vladislava Darakchieva Once praying for Guru worked for me! I was praying for Guru for 8 years (from 11 year old, after I've read "Autobiography of a Yogi" and "Bhagavad Gita" till 19) and my Gurudeva Bhakti Abhay Narayan Maharaj came and found me in socialist Bulgaria, risking to be sent to jail for "religious propaganda". So if the miracle happened once, maybe it can happen again...

Paramatma Das Vladislava Darakchieva I spent some time with my Godbrother Bhakti Abhay Narayana Maharaja when he came to the San Jose temple in the 80s. He seemed very humble and sweet devotee but fearless as well. We talked a few times there when he was passing through. He was good friends with Srutasrava Prabhu and he would always talk about him when he was in the area or when he went to Europe.

Vladislava Darakchieva Paramatma Das: Yes, my Gurudeva was like this, simultaneously very brave and very humble. He had maybe no more than 40 initiated disciples, but we had really deep personal relation with him, true relation heart to heart. He kept us completely away and protected from all the storms happening in ISKCON or in the rest of the Vaishnava world... a small temple and ashram hidden in the country side of Hungary. If you are going to Hungary you can go to visit his place Nandagram, his room and samadhi there, and you will feel it. From the documentary movie you can see Gurudeva through our eyes and through our stories with him.

Paramatma Das I know Bhakti Abhay Narayana Maharaja mostly from my friend Srutasrava Prabhu, who has left this mortal world as well. He told me several stories about his preaching and felt inspired by him. In the 80s it was difficult to be connnected to Srila Sridhara Maharaja as you were treated as an outcaste by the main institution. Srila Sridhara Maharaja gave some beautiful Sidhanta including the Guru tattva in Sri Guru and His Grace and the Search for Sri Krsna. I could feel the Divine Current of Bhakti flowing from Srila Sridhara Maharaja and went to see him in Navadwip. in the 90s i could feel the Divine Current flow through Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja and he became a prominent Siksa Guru. I will Pray to Lord Nityananda that you can have a prominent siksa Guru as well, didi.

Radhe Radhe!

Paramatma Das Vladislava Darakchieva Thank you for inviting me to the samadhi in Hungary. My dad was from the Czech Republic and i want to visit Prague sometime. I brought my dad to see Srila Narayana Maharaja when he was staying near my parents house about 20 years ago. I told my dad to bow down to him as he is an exalted sadhu. My dad was older then Gurudeva and when he tried to pay his obeisances to Srila Narayana Maharaja, he kept hugging my dad out of respect because my dad was older than Gurudeva. Gurudeva asked my dad what he liked doing and my dad replied he liked dancing. Guru replied," You like dancing at your age??"

Krishna Rose Wonderful! I have friends who didn't come when I begged them, and then they waited until the last minute to meet him and take his shelter, it doesn't really matter WHEN you come, it matters THAT you came! :)

Francis Kress Gurudeva does Know more than Santa Claus as he knows every important detail and you can't hide anything including personal problems etc. He has appeared in Many dreams giving me personal advice on personal issues etc. When he or Prabhupada appeared in my dreams it has always seemed so Real as they know when you are suffering. He also told me not to reveal dreams about Prabhupada or him to the general public. The Guru knows your heart and not limited by Time and Space. He has pulled my ear a few times in my dreams because I have sometimes been Naughty. It is really all Mercy if he chastises you or encourages you.

Gurudeva memories: One year, I was traveling with Gurudeva on his global tour, and I was upset when I saw some devotee's coming around Gurudeva, controlling him and controlling us. We were most of us at that time used to having access to Gurudeva pretty easily, and we were staying everywhere with Gurudeva in the same house, then one day is suddenly changed. Doors were closed and locked, we were told to "go away", "you cannot come". Gurudeva told one devotee "one day you will pay for what you have done". At that point, I became very sad and jaded, wondering why is it that these controlling men in society take charge and get position and create problems for everyone else? Then that evening, Gurudeva came to see us in the house we were all staying in, and said this "Where have you all been? I have been missing you all soon much, I wanted to see your shining faces" he said so sweetly, that had us all in tears. "You should know, that just because someone is physically coming close to me, it does not mean that they are so advanced, it means they need more purification than any person in the back of the room". Gurudeva rectified for all of us that year, why he was doing what he was doing, and I never again questioned or doubted the situations surrounding Gurudeva. He has a perfect plan for every one. This same thought arose when considering Srila Prabhupada and his disciples and how they behaved around him. And once again, when I apply this teaching to Srila Prabhupada's situation I can see why he allowed certain devotee's to be so close to him... it was out of sheer mercy.

Nila Madhavi Thats so sweet! I remember how easy it was to have access to Srila Gurudeva in the beginning and how difficult it became later on. Unfortunately I let that make me feel more distant, but one day, when I turned up in India about a week into parikrama, Srila Gurudeva saw me and parted the crowd after class to come over to me, smiling and so happy that I came. Sri Guru.. he comes to us even when we don't approach him.

Paramatma Das I met both Puri Maharajas and Gurudeva in 1994. I was most impressed with Bhakti Promode Puri Maharaja then but was attracted to Gurudeva as well. I saw both Gurudeva and bhakti Promode Puri glorify each other at the Chaitanya Matha in Vrindavan in 1994 and it struck me very deeply in my heart as they were both great Transcendental personalities.

Gurudeva memories: Back in the early days at Gurudeva's temple in Mathura, it was 'fashionable' to go into Gurudeva's room and ask him "Gurudeva, how many lives do I have left before I can go back to Goloka Vrindavana?" (the Kingdom of God). So after a while, a few of my friends at the Math (Temple) said "go in and ask Gurudeva how many lives you have left". So somewhat reluctantly, I went to Gurudeva and asked this question. He answered: "have you eaten meat in this life?" "Yes Gurudeva" I said ashamed. "have you taken any intoxication?" "Yes Gurudeva a lot" I admitted. "have you had any sex outside of marriage?" "yes Gurudeva" I said sadly, "have you gambled?" "yes Gurudeva, but not much". He thought for a few minutes and then said "it is not possible to go there in this body, you will have to take birth again, in Yavat and begin your devotional practices from birth. I will be with you from your baby-hood, and you can develop your Bhakti". Then he went on to tell me how many lives I have left and gave me very detailed descriptions of my future life, it was profound. He added 'you can have this, IF you don't commit any aparadha". When I came out of his room, I was weeping, because I was so sad that I would have to again take birth. All my friends where huddled in the corner of the Temple room, they were giggling.... I went over and they asked me "so what did he say?" Then each of them told me how many lives Gurudeva told them they still had left to work out their karma's... and I told them what Gurudeva had said to me.

We must be so careful not to offend any Vaisnvava with our criticizing mind. Aparadha (making offenses - judging and criticizing) is our BIGGEST block to our advancement. If we are chanting every day, and making little steps and little efforts towards our goal, and then we open our mouths and speak criticism, hatred and judgment then we are the only one's who lose. Gurudeva said "whatever you criticize in any other person, immediately that bad quality will creep over a bridge between your heart, and that persons heart, and come into your heart and then you will find that you have that quality that you have criticized".

Haripriya Dasi I would of been too scared to ask that question, knowing that I probably has quite a few births to go. But knowing Gurudeva will be there, makes it more tolerable

Krishna Rose Yes I was very scared! But with the question came so much mercy and nectar, it was worth ever inch of my discomfort. Gurudeva is so merciful. When we don't hold back, but we give everything to Guru, especially the things that we want to hold back, like our fears and darkest secrets, then he is so please and he can help us from the most honest part of ourselves to move forward.

Gurudeva memories: After the intensity of the last post, I thought I would share something light this morning.... I have more stories about that first tour with Gurudeva, but I will wait until the dust settles and then share again. I found some diaries from 1995, 1996 so here is one sweet story Gurudeva told us one day, written in one of those diaries - "there once was a man who fell down a deep well. It was dark and he was all alone, and could see nothing except for the light gazing down from the top. He could see the stars and the moon and night and wished he could reach them, and see them better from the ground, he would see the sunlight and wished he could be warmed by the sun. Then one day, some very kind person threw down a rope and said "hold onto this rope and I will help you climb out". Very happily the man took the rope and tried to hold on, putting his hands around the rope he said "I cannot hold on, I am too weak, can you make my hands hold on?" Our situation is just like this", Gurudeva explained.
- We cannot ask Gurudeva to hold the rope for us, we have to hold onto the rope he has thrown us, with our own will, so that Gurudeva can pull us out. When we met Gurudeva, we were so inspired, and so full of hope that the Kingdom suddenly seemed so accessible for us, so we made vows to follow his instructions, and chant every day, and sit quietly and meditate on Radha and Krishna during our Ahnik mantra's three times a day. We were so excited. Time slowly slips away, and we gradually become weaker and weaker until we don't hold the rope at all. But Gurudeva is still there at the top of the well, seeing our pitiful condition, and reminding us, in dreams, or in experiences, to again become strong and hold onto the rope. Some listen, some do not. It reminds me of how Jesus said "let those with ears, hear" "some seeds have fallen on stones and some have landed on fertile ground and will sprout". Gurudeva went on to say "my disciples will never go to hell, and IF any one of them goes into hell, I will personally come and get them out". Such is the enormity of his watching over us! Gurudeva never drops the rope nor gives up on us. He is always there, willing us to hold on, like a gentle loving kind father and friend. He is actually our best friend and kindest well wisher, because no one else can actually help us, or relieve us from the suffering this world inevitably brings. So please, I beg myself, my own mind, and the selves of all those who Gurudeva touched with his kind merciful glance, to again hold the rope tight and feel the strength of Gurudeva's love in our lives, so that we can gradually climb out of our dark disturbed situations, and attain the highest joy of pure love for Radha and Krishna in Their Magical Kingdom (of God).

Gurudeva memories: This one is rather explosive, but never the less, it is one of my memories of sitting with Gurudeva, so I will share it. Whilst staying in Keshavji Gaudiya Math in Mathura, with Gurudeva, I was reading a very large heavy stack of papers relating to the poisoning of Srila Prabhupada (Swamiji). The papers were the evidences. By end of reading these papers I was on a rampage, I was filled with so much anger and tears all mixed together, so I took it to Gurudeva. I came to Gurudeva with all my tears and this stack of papers which I plopped down on his bed "Gurudeva they murdered Prabhupada" I said. "Yes, Beti" he said sweetly, "but you should know that Prabhupada did not leave this world because of the poison, he left because Srimati Radhika called him. He is a pure devotee, and no one can kill him". Then he thought for a minute and said "they may also try to poison me, so I will not take any prasad from them, not ever!". Then he thought some more, and continued "They also poisoned Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada in this way, with arsenic in the milk, his own disciples!" he said. I cried all night. What has happened to this world, that we crucify Jesus, who came with a message of love and compassion, then poison the pure devotee's of God who come here to help the miserable unhappy people. Offenses to the pure devotee may be forgiven by him, but not by Krishna. Krishna never forgets.
